Overview
ZEPHYR is a computer-aided design (CAD) tool and automatic structured mesh generation tool. Dedicated to complex geometries in the aerospace industry, it was designed to generate, merge, and organize non-conforming independent meshes while maintaining high structural quality.
The tool is used to generate VTK meshes for the CNES BLIZZARD and PAMPERO tools.
Key Features
Hexahedral-dominant 3D Mesh
Generation from primitives or extrusion of lines and surfaces
Automated Merging of Sub-meshes
Optimized for processing equipment by equipment (satellites, launchers)
Parallelization Strategy
Accelerating mesh generation processes on multi-core architectures
Graphical User Interface
Hierarchical management of components with intuitive workflow
Parametric Modification
Fine adjustment of meshes according to geometric and physical constraints
Integration with PAMPERO
As part of the development of the PAMPERO code, the ZEPHYR tool has been integrated to automate the generation of complex meshes. This integration has resulted in a 100-fold reduction in engineer time required to generate meshes, thanks to a modular approach using primitives and automatic merging of sub-meshes.
Application Cases
Delta II – Upper Stage
Complete structural modeling via multi-block assembly.

TARANIS (CNES satellite)
Modular generation by equipment with hierarchical management.
